Thank You For Helping To Make John’s Birthday Wishes Come True!

This past Saturday, January 26th, MeloTel’s Founder and CEO, John Meloche turned 39. As we announced, on the MeloTel Blog, a couple weeks back, John decided to celebrate this year’s birthday in a very special way. He reached out to all of his friends, followers, colleagues and clients via Facebook and requested donations for an organization very near and dear to his heart.

Project SHARE is a highly touted organization that serves Niagara Falls-based community members who live in poverty. The fantastic charitable group addresses both the short-term need for food and the creation of long-term solutions for food security.

Project SHARE is a great organization that has impacted John’s life directly.

“I’ve chosen this nonprofit because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope you’ll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me,” John communicated on his Facebook page, “Project SHARE provides emergency food to an average of 100 families per day who are living below the poverty line in Niagara Falls. Project SHARE was also single-handedly responsible for ensuring I had a breakfast to eat each morning when I was sent to school without one.”

Originally, John set his donation goal at $500. He was quickly overwhelmed with support and far exceeded the goal well ahead of the January 31st deadline to accept donations. As a result, he decided to double the donation goal to $1000, as we announced on the MeloTel Blog last week. In classic John fashion, he again exceeded his goals and has now raised more than $1000 with a couple of days to spare!

We’d like to thank EVERYONE who donated to Project SHARE!

On behalf of John, the entire MeloTel team and Project SHARE, we’d like to offer our sincere gratitude to every single person who donated to this great cause. We’re happy that Facebook has created the ability to unite charitable organizations with people celebrating their birthdays in order to both raise awareness and much-needed funding for very worthy causes.

In John’s case, his support couldn’t have been any better! Even without the fanfare expected for his big 4-0 milestone next year, John’s 39th birthday is certainly an occasion he won’t soon forget.

“I couldn’t be more proud!” exclaimed John on Facebook during his birthday, “Having a charity birthday fundraiser turned out amazing! Still a week left and I already beat two goals. We crushed $500 goal and raised (it) to $1000 goal and then beat that as well! I’m humbled that so many people donated and very generously. (The) fundraiser ends January 31, 2019. So there is still time to smash the goal even more. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a nice birthday gift.”
