We’re Celebrating John’s Birthday By Supporting Project SHARE!

On Saturday, January 26th, MeloTel’s Founder and CEO, John Meloche will turn the big 3-9! And while one’s 39th birthday may not be considered that remarkable a milestone (John obviously has another year to go to join the 40’s club), this year’s birthday is a very special one for MeloTel’s head honcho.

As he has declared on his Facebook page, John is celebrating his birthday by asking for donations to Project SHARE. As of late, Facebook users have been utilizing the social media’s giant’s new feature which allows people to request donations for charities and organizations of their choice as part of their birthday celebrations.

John has a special bond with Project SHARE.

“I’ve chosen this nonprofit because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope you’ll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me,” he exclaims on Facebook, “Project SHARE provides emergency food to an average of 100 families per day who are living below the poverty line in Niagara Falls. Project SHARE was also single-handedly responsible for ensuring I had a breakfast to eat each morning when I was sent to school without one.”

It goes without saying that we all face struggles and hardships. John has certainly not been immune to hard times throughout various parts of his life. As a result, one of his top priorities is to help those in need. He does quite a lot behind the scenes without exposure on social media, this blog or anywhere else. However, for John’s 39th birthday, he felt it was important to highlight a growing need in the Niagara Falls region.

Project SHARE is committed to its community.

As they detail on their website, Project SHARE serves individuals living in poverty in the Niagara Falls community by addressing the short-term need for food and creating long-term solutions for food security. The organization believes in interacting with all members of their community with dignity, respect, compassion and understanding.

“This is not a nameless faceless non-profit,” John assures, “Donations to this organization really truly help young people through tough times. Please give generously.”

Donations can be made directly on Facebook.

Please click this link and find the donation buttons right under John’s post. You have the option of donating any amount that you like, but there are also buttons with varying dollar amounts for you to choose from in order to speed up the process. Donations will be granted to the charity by PayPal Giving Fund Canada within 15 to 90 days.

We, here at MeloTel, love Facebook’s new initiative of encouraging charitable donations as part of birthday celebrations. Notoriously generous, John was only too happy to select Project SHARE as an organization worthy of support in celebration of his birthday this year. We certainly hope you’ll join us in celebrating John’s 39th birthday by giving to those who truly need it the most.

As of this writing, John has already raised over $300 of the $500 goal he has set. With his birthday still two weeks away, we’re sure we’ll be able to exceed his goal. Thanks in advance!
