The Raptors Are Showing Us What Teamwork Is All About

Are you ready for Game 4 of the NBA Finals tonight? The team, here at MeloTel, sure is! To be perfectly honest, we’ve never been more excited about a basketball game in our lives. And, can you blame us? Our hometown Toronto Raptors currently have a 2-1 series lead on the heavily favoured defending champions, the Golden State Warriors.

With a win tonight, the Raps would have a significant stranglehold on the Warriors, especially considering that Game 5 will be played in Toronto on Monday. As basketball fans are well aware, the Warriors are currently without their superstar small forward, Kevin Durant. As well, another superstar in shooting guard, Klay Thompson was sidelined with a hamstring injury in Game 3. It’s questionable as to whether or not he will return tonight.

Let’s go Raptors!

Raptors antagonists are quick to point out that should Toronto win the NBA Championship, they will have to place an asterisk beside the achievement. The meaning behind this, of course, is that the championship is to be called into question due to the depleted nature of the Warriors’ line up.

“Complete nonsense” is the response from Raptors enthusiasts, of course. The team can’t control who is put on the floor to face them and injuries always have been and always will be part of the game. On top of that, the Raptors themselves are playing through injuries and have done more than enough to prove they are deserving of their place in the spotlight.

The Toronto Raptors have proven the extreme importance of teamwork.

Underestimated by the majority of basketball pundits, the Raps have shown that when unique talents are put together (like the addition of Kawhi Leonard, Danny Grean and Marc Gasol this past year to mainstays like Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam), amazing things can happen.

At MeloTel, we’re incredibly proud of the diverse talents possessed by our various team members knowing that no two individuals bring the same set of skills to the table. We all need each other in order to help our company function like the proverbial well-oiled machine. We feed off of each other and appreciate the unique skills that everyone has.

Teamwork makes the dream work!

“For any task or problem, there are usually countless solutions,” notes BrightHR.com, “When one employee tackles a project, they might be able to think of a few different ideas given time. But when a team tackles a problem, the project benefits from multiple perspectives, skillsets, and experiences all at once.”

As we insinuated in our last blog, we definitely feel that all of our team members deserve credit for being great. Before spotlighting our Operations Manager, Chantel Cascanette as MeloTel’s MVP, we spoke to her about her thoughts about being part of the MeloTel team for the past two years. She was quick to deflect the praise, highlighting Founder and CEO, John Meloche’s very welcoming and supportive nature.

“It has been a pleasure to work alongside John as I couldn’t imagine a better leader,” Chantel told us, “John takes the time out to ensure you understand, not just the ‘this is how you do it’, but the why and the effects each have, to ensure an overall understanding of the way to completion. The current team here is keen on asking questions, readily available to eat up all the knowledge that we have to give and take on the largest of tasks.”

One last time…let’s go Raptors! Thank you for showing us what teamwork is all about!
