Happy Holidays From The MeloTel Team!

Submitted by Dan Faraldo in Customer Service, Just For Fun, MeloTel News

We’re only two days away from Christmas! The excitement is definitely in the air as the holiday season is officially here! MeloTel, we would like to remind you, is open today until 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. However, we will be closed for the next three days in observance of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Here’s another reminder that we will be back open for business this Friday, December 27th between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

On behalf of the entire MeloTel team, we’d like to wish you a very happy holiday season! It just so happens that, this year, all of the major end-of-year holidays will be taking place during the same week. Obviously, Christmas, as always, is December 25th. Hanukkah takes place between Sunday, December 22nd and Monday, December 30th. And Kwanzaa will be celebrated between Thursday, December 26th and Wednesday, January 1st, 2020.

How do you intend on enjoying your holiday season?

For many workaholics, the answer is “same as usual”. There are business owners all over North America who find it difficult to take any time off during the holiday season. In some situations, they simply can’t afford to stop working. And, in others, the “grow-my-business” mindset can’t be shut off.

In our last blog, we offered up a few ideas about how workaholics can actually enjoy the holiday season. The list involved a combination of light work and not worrying too much about the work that needed to be done. While it may come off slightly contradictory, the basic message is that everyone deserves a break and, in fact, a break can do you some good!

In the blog before our last, we suggested take-it-easy tips to help business owners to actually enjoy the holidays. In today’s blog, we’ll revisit this theme by offering up a couple of ideas for how to enjoy the holiday season – through limitations.

Eat, drink and be merry – carefully!

We know the theme of the season is to give. And, in many cases, people love to give to their bellies! Big family dinners and parties are commonplace at this time of year. Naturally, they involve a lot of fatty foods and alcoholic beverages. Dig in! But not too much! Overindulging may only lead to long and uncomfortable stints in the bathroom.

“It’s easy to overindulge in alcohol during the holidays,” Johns Hopkins Medicine reminds us, “Moderation is key so that your balance and emotional well-being are not negatively impacted.”

Stay in with the family.

Even when business owners do decide to take breaks and enjoy themselves, they often feel that doing so requires nights out on the town. Chill out! Stay at home and relax with your family, catching up on some much-needed alone time with them.

“Enjoy your home and the warmth that can be found in it only during the holiday season,” advocates Merissa on LittleHouseLiving.com, “Make memories with your children and family by spending time with them. There will always be things to do, places to go, people to see, but the best way to actually enjoy the holidays this year is by going less.”
