As he embarks on the final week of his month-long vacation with his family, MeloTel’s Founder & CEO, John Meloche is celebrating in a very special way. Just yesterday, on September 25th, he and his beautiful wife, Kathryn celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary. On behalf of the entire MeloTel team, we would like to extend our best wishes to both John and Kathryn. Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!
Shortly before tying the knot six years ago, John shared with us his approach to popping the big question. On Valentine’s Day, seven years ago, he took his then-girlfriend Kathryn to his favourite restaurant, The David Duncan House in Toronto. It was the night before, however, that John took to great measures to showcase his love for his soon-to-be- fiancé, thinking his efforts would throw her of the scent of thinking he was about to propose.
“The night before Valentine’s Day, I arranged 12 red and pink roses, a big teddy bear, chocolates, a card and a 32 inch widescreen television,” John explained, “Also, we had planned for the next evening to go to The David Duncan House for what tends to be a pretty amazing evening. I wanted to make her think it would be impossible for me to ALSO plan a proposal.” But planning a proposal was exactly what John was doing.
After the couple enjoyed dinner and their dessert was done, John made his move to one knee and asked Kathryn to marry him. About a year and a half later, the two would be walking down the aisle as a newly-married couple. With John and Kathryn currently making their way home, travelling north throughout the eastern United States, we can only imagine how much they’re enjoying their 6th anniversary. Now, the parents of two boys, Mark and Lukas, we know they’re enjoying it ways they never imagined.
We dedicate today’s blog to John and Kathryn partly because we wish to communicate the importance of family, here at MeloTel. Technically speaking, we consider MeloTel a family business. Not only has Kathryn worked as MeloTel’s office coordinator and administrator but John has a penchant for developing familial bonds with his co-workers. The individuals in his office are the same ones you’ll see at his barbeques and birthday parties.
It’s the family atmosphere, at MeloTel, that also encourages the team to treat customers with a great deal of respect and admiration. As a smaller company than that of your traditional telecom provider, MeloTel is made up of hard-working and dedicated employees who understand that great value that is placed on customer relationships.
