An elderly individual from British Columbia, who had pre-existing medical issues, is the first Canadian to succumb to the disease. PHAC also points out that 79 percent of ill individuals are travellers and 12 percent are close contacts of those travellers.

Also, as of yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed 647 cases of COVID-19 in the United States. 25 deaths have been reported. It goes without saying that we sincerely hope the spread of coronavirus comes to a halt much sooner than later.
