Why You Should Post Every Blog Link To Your Social Media Pages

What is social media all about really? Consider the words “social media”. They refer to modes of communication where people can interact – socially. Yes, platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and especially LinkedIn are very often used to promote brands from all industries. However, the ways in which social media are used are far different than your traditional modes of advertising.

In other words, social media don’t make for the best places to blatantly advertise your business. People don’t generally appreciate being told what to do, being spoken at or worse, being spoken down to – no matter the medium. Therefore, when using social media for the purposes of promoting your business, it’s important that you engage people in conversations. It’s all about interacting – being social – and not just pushing people to make purchases.

How do blog links help to generate social media engagement? Blogs, in and of themselves, are forms of direct communication with target audiences. They are meant to be written in very readable (read: like you’re having a conversation) ways. That way, readers are encouraged to want to learn more.

It’s important that blogs are written in ways that never speak over the heads of the average person. When you’re interacting with others through social media, the same rule applies. Your job is to engage others in conversation by posting comments, replying to other comments and even clicking “like” on appropriate posts that reflect the values of your business. Keep in mind that each and every one of your posts, comments and likes create a link to your social media account. The more you interact, the more people are going to get to know about you!

When your blog links are placed on your social media pages, they should come with quick blurbs (no more than 100 words each) to spark interest in your friends and followers. They should generally end with a question that your blog answers. The objective, of course, is to get people to click on the link in order to read the blog. Blogs are meant to be informative, engaging and interactive. But they’re also meant to be money makers. It takes time to develop on online audience. But when you get used to posting links to your blogs on your social media pages, you give your company the opportunity to grow that audience even quicker.
