Mastering The Art Of Never Giving Up

Last night, the Toronto Raptors had the opportunity to send the entire nation of Canada into a frenzy. They came up just one point short of winning the NBA Championship for the first time in franchise history. The Raps spent the majority of Game 5 trailing the Golden State Warriors, but came back with a surge in the fourth quarter. Alas, it was not enough, as a missed shot by Kyle Lowry at the final buzzer left the Raptors down by a score of 106-105.

Of course, the series is not over. The Raptors take a 3-2 series lead into Oakland’s Oracle Arena on Thursday night. Fans all over Canada are still expecting their team to capture the title as NBA Champions. Last night’s game truly proved that it’s not over until it’s over. And there should never be a time when a team gives up.

The words “give up” should be in no business owner’s vocabulary.

Quite simply, the only way to guarantee failure is to give up. Take a page out of the Raptors’ playbook and remember that hard work and dedication can take you a long way. It’s up to you to make sure your business runs like a well-oiled machine. However, you can’t be expected to do everything by yourself. The whole point of having a team is to be able to place individuals in positions where they can succeed – and to take some weight off your shoulders.

In addition, it’s wise to maintain a good work-life balance. By taking time away from the job to rest, relax and rejuvenate, you’ll do your business a great favour. Consider finding ways to work outside of your place of business.
