Not only are you taking advantage of a seemingly endless list of calling features, but you’re also ridding yourself of the burden that comes with long distances charges.

We mentioned, of course, that there is a long list of calling features. As a reminder, our phone services come with Call Waiting, Caller ID, Conference Calling, Call Transfer, Voicemail to your Email, Incoming Call Routing, Custom Hold Music, Out of Office Options and The MeloTel VoIP Panel.
This amazing service sends all of your voicemail messages to your email inbox as mp3 files. That way, you’re able to listen to them on any device of your choice, including your desktop computer where you can store and file your messages. Well, this week, the MeloTel team is excited to announce that in addition to all of the wonderful features and savings that come with utilizing our Commercial Phone Services, we have now added a new little wrinkle we’re sure you’ll enjoy. It’s called Zero Touch Provisioning – ZTP for short. Specific to the Polycom phones that we deploy, ZTP allows for us to back up, restore and manage the phone properties.
ZTP is being rolled out for all of our new Commercial Phone Services clients and about 80 percent of our older clients are on this platform. By using ZTP, you will be assured that all of your phone’s data will be backed up on a regular basis to our provisioning server. This data includes such things as any local options you may have changed, your contacts and all of your call logs.
This is incredibly helpful in the event of an unforeseen circumstance such as a power outage. In such a case, your phone’s local configuration would automatically be reset by pulling the lost configuration from our provisioning server. If this doesn’t happen automatically, the MeloTel team will happily provide you with instructions so that you can perform a reset.
Any endpoints on our new Zero Touch Provisioning system are required to use encryption on SIP calls. This prevents hackers from being able to listen in on calls. In addition, all file uploads and downloads between the phones and the Zero Touch Provisioning server are now handled via secure protocols.
