Why Is It Important To Post A Blog On The First Of The Month?

Almost one year ago to the day (eleven months ago, to be exact), we posted a blog entitled “The Importance Of Posting A Blog On The First Of The Month”. With today being the first of May, it made sense for us to revisit this topic. Interestingly, it’s one that we don’t see very much of online. A Google search about this concept only pulled up various blogs about blogging that had no specific insight on the “first of the month” concept. That is, except for our blog on the subject.

What is the importance of blogging on the first day of the month?

Allow us to start off by saying that it isn’t particularly a mandatory thing to do. But, it is an important thing to keep in mind, nonetheless. We’d recommend it because it speaks to the “freshness” of your website. Keeping a website regularly updated is hugely important in today’s world – one that is comprised of countless online users searching for the best bargains and deals.

The more content on your website, the better its chances of getting picked up in search engines. However, it’s important to note that how recent your content is makes a lot of difference in the eyes of your website’s visitors. A blog without an update during the current month appears outdated. Yes, that includes one that may have posted a blog yesterday. Of course, it’s only a day ago – but it was in last month!

This may seem strange – yes. But the truth is that perception is everything. When a blog is posted to your website on the first of the month, it creates a new archive of blogs represented by that month. Many of the blogs designed by MeloTel’s web designers include archives on the right side of the page. Denoted by the months and years, these links bring website visitors to a specific set of blogs written in that given month.

Blogs posted today, of course, would appear in a May 2017 archive list. And even though it’s only the first of the month, a blog that contains no May 2017 archive list may give the appearance of one that is seldom tended to. Again, it’s a perception thing. But it underscores the importance of keeping a blog regularly updated. Keeping your website updated with new content is a great way to keep visitors coming back!
