How To Make Working From Home More Fun

Is working from home new to you? If you’re finding it a bit taxing getting up for work every morning – knowing you’re not actually going into work – we understand. For some people, working from home is a dream come true. No commuting, no having to get dressed and no having to buy a lunch!

Create a fun and inviting atmosphere.

What space in your home do you dedicate to work? Decorate it! Make it fun and festive. Create an environment that you enjoy working in. If your office just happens to be the corner of your bedroom or even your bed, don’t hesitate to change it up during the hours within which you’re working.

Create a name plate and place it on your desk as you would in your office. Hang some pictures of family around your workspace the way you would at your job’s regular location. Put some fresh flowers or a plant on your desk. Get a comfortable, ergonomic chair. Softly play your favourite tunes in the background. Whatever it takes to make your work day pleasant – do that!

Take breaks throughout each day.

Could you do with a 15-minute walk? Don’t hesitate to get some fresh air at different points throughout the day. Have fun on your lunch hour. Some workers-from-home eat their meals in front of their TVs with their favourite comedies on the screens.

Like with any job, taking a break to refresh and recharge is necessary. Get in a good laugh, stretch, dance and/or do some light exercising intermittently throughout the day.
