On behalf of the entire MeloTel team, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came by to see us at the Better Business Expo yesterday at Montecassino in North York. It was a great pleasure to meet so many amazing business owners from such a wide variety of industries. Of course, our team was only too happy to get them up to speed about the wonders of VoIP technologies and the various cloud-hosted services we offer than can help their businesses.
Allow us to mention, though, that networking isn’t selling. Of course, we proudly spoke to various individuals at the Better Business Expo about our VoIP-based Commercial Phone Services. However, we weren’t intent on making sales on the spot. Instead, we placed a greater focus on establishing relationships. It’s not lost on us that strong and genuine bonds last longer than customers who were coerced into buying.
Not only do we enjoy answering questions, but we enjoy asking them as well. It’s important to us that we get to know the backgrounds of the various business owners we meet. That way, we’ll be better equipped with the knowledge of how to address their long-term needs. Giving our new friends opportunities to explain their businesses to us also helps us to determine what solutions we may have to the problems they face.
This is what helps to create long-term relationships. By understanding their businesses and the problems they encounter, we’re able to offer solutions – not just products. The key to developing strong customer relationships is the ability to solve problems for the long haul. Selling a product that may not necessarily address the concerns of its purchaser will only lead to that individual’s disappointment – and a bad reputation for the business that sold the product.
Okay, so we admit it. It’s enjoyable to have a full day of work outside of our office! And since we conduct so much business over the phone, it’s a fun break for us to be out in a new environment conducting business in person. Not to mention, the Better Business Expo has always proven to be awesome. Both the pre-event workshops and the tradeshow itself are as interesting as they are informative.
