It may be hard to believe but we’re nearly at the halfway point of 2017. (See what we did there? “May”) This is the time of year when many people begin feeling the drag of each work day. Make it a point to highlight the contributions of your employees in your morning meetings. Offer particular incentives for high performance. They don’t always have to be monetary, by the way. A free lunch, access to the best parking space and an early leave on Friday are great ways to keep your employees motivated to do their best.
Leading by example is probably the best way to get your employees to perform at high levels. And that includes having a positive attitude. If you’re upbeat and energetic, chances are your employees will follow suit. It’s important, however, that your team members know that they can come to you for help. When you make it clear that you can be approached for assistance at any time, it will motivate your team to address problems early and not let them linger. This makes for both happier team members and higher productivity.
