3 Ways To Go About Reducing Spam

Spam is annoying. We know – tell you something that you don’t know already, right? From the world of the obvious comes the statement, “it would be nice to not receive all that spam in my email inbox every day.” However, as a business owner, you likely encounter your fair share of unwanted email messages on a regular basis. In a way, you can’t always blame other companies for attempting to share information about their brands.

And you can’t necessarily blame other entrepreneurs for seeking cost-effective methods of growing their businesses. But then again, maybe you can. After all, if you didn’t sign up or subscribe to a specific emailing list, then you shouldn’t be receiving any emails from that sender. This is how spam starts. 1. Create a “fake” email address. The email address may not necessarily be “fake”, but by creating one that you have no intention of using – other than to avoid spam – you give yourself the opportunity to have a much more manageable inbox for your “real” email account. From now on, when you sign up for anything online, use the “fake” address instead of your “real” one. This will help to reduce the amount of spam you encounter every day.

2. Click “unsubscribe”. All emailing lists should have an “unsubscribe” option. Some are easier to find than others. In some cases, all this is required is for you to click on a button marked with the magic word. In others, you have to reply to the email using the word in your subject heading and email body. Either way, it should reduce the amount of spam you get. However, unsubscribing can’t necessarily prevent future spam from occurring from new senders.
