The Extreme Importance Of Keeping Your Staff Motivated

Allow us, if you will, to remind you of our holiday hours. MeloTel will be operational between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday (our regular business hours) straight through until December 20th. We will then be closed for the holidays until December 27th, at which point, regular business hours will resume until the 29th. We shut down again to ring in the new year and start back on January 2nd.

Now, there are two main reasons we wanted to remind you of our holiday hours.

Firstly – the obvious – it’s important that we keep MeloTel clients in the loop about our availability. However, we also want to reiterate the fact that we accept calls 24 hours a day and 7 days a week at 1-888-MELOTEL. Please choose option 3 and leave a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible – all throughout the holidays. It’s part of our commitment to provide unbeatable customer service.

The second reason is to highlight the need to give employees time off of work to enjoy the holidays. This should be an integral part of every business owner’s to-do list. Yes, there are many businesses out there that operate on 24/7 schedules. However, it’s necessary to ensure that all employees are provided with adequate time off work to enjoy the festivities of the season. It will serve to significantly boost employee morale.

How important is employee morale to your company’s bottom line?

Simply put, it’s huge! If your employees are happy, excited and motivated to work for you, they will only produce better results. Happy workers are more productive. Those who feel that work is a chore or a bore will head out the door. (We honestly didn’t mean to rhyme that sentence, but hey, it worked!)

This is why it’s so important to regularly provide feedback to your employees. Especially if your business operates in a call centre environment, feedback couldn’t be more important. It helps for your staff members to know where their missteps may have taken place and how to correct them in future. But just as important, your words of encouragement and appreciation will serve to motivate your team members to continue to perform at their best.

Matt Heller is the author of book, The Myth of Employee Burnout. In it, he points out that when business owners recognize the efforts of their employees, it works to stimulate all members of the organization to work together to meet and exceed company goals. For this reason, he insists that bosses let their staff members know when they are having positive impacts on their businesses.

As the leader of your company, do you feel you’re doing enough to keep your staff motivated?

At MeloTel, we strongly believe that we have the answer to how to best provide feedback to call centre staff members. It’s called Monitor/Whisper Control Panel. It enables you to listen to the phone calls being taken by your phone agents live and as they happen. While listening, you can whisper information to help them answer questions and guide the potential customers towards making purchases.

For information about Monitor/Whisper Control Panel, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 1-888-MELOTEL or use the Live Chat feature on our website!
